RB is  75 and for the past 13 years she was sole carer for her husband until recently when he went into a nursing home. During those years she was depressed and had gained weight to the point where she was close to being obese. She was waking up with pains in her heart and welcomed it as she said she just didn’t want to live anymore. She finally went to her doctor who told her that she had to lose weight and start exercising.

It was around that time that she became aware of the HWFL program and went on it. She has lost the weight, feels great, has heaps of energy and not only goes to the gym 4 times a week but says she can go to the gym for an hour and still go to the shops and rush around for a couple of hours paying bills and doing the shopping.

Back in April- May I went on the kicstart programme as I was very overweight  (87kg)
And as I did not get back to any one after this programme,  I would just like to let you know I have lost 27kilos alltogether  and am still doing quite well , although I   feel sometimes I do get a bit off track but I try to walk everyday or at least 3 times a week,  so at the moment I weigh 60kg  which I am very proud of myself and I feel heaps better for this as I had a back operation back in March as well  ..
Thanks to the team at HWFL for this programme it has made a big difference to my life

I must congratulate HCF for providing such a wonderful program like HWFL. My wife and myself have recently sucessfully completed the 18 week program.

We both lost 10% of gross weight, and at 66yrs of age has changed my life completely, not only feeling so much better but also teaching the correct way of eating. I have battled with my weight most of my life but sadly had never experienced this type of excellent program. We not only have shed the  present  weight but now have the incentive to further our weight reduction with further purchase of the Kickstart product. Once again our great thanks to HCF for  providing such a wonderful program

 Hello HWFL team,

Just a quick note to let you know how I am going.

It has been a tremendous journey the last 10 weeks.  It has been difficult and at moments stressful.

I have had the good fortune of having my niece who has lost 15 kilos over the last 1.5 years through good eating and exercise.  She has talked me (and walked me) through the last 10 weeks.

I have had to make a lot of changes and adjustments to my life and I am doing it.  For one, I have dropped alcohol from my diet.  This was a huge struggle and one of the reasons I bounced back up in my weight.

I have started exercising every day and I have joined a local gym.

I am still struggling a bit with the food side of things but the shakes and soups are my life saviour.  At the moment, they are my staple diet along with lots of vegetables.  I'm trying to shake a couple of bad eating habits but I know it is a slow journey.

18 weeks is so short and in many ways not nearly enough.  I feel a bit lost thinking I only have 8 weeks on this 'program' to go and not sure where I go to from there.  Logging in each week has kept me going and keeping me focussed even as I have had to unlearn so many bad habits.

But thank you for such a wonderful program.  It is well worth it and could well have saved my life.

 Hi All,

I would just like to thank everyone at HCF Healthy Weight for Life. The team has really meant a lot to me over the last 18 weeks. Well, it’s now been 20 weeks since I spoke to you about losing weight and being healthy, so I started the program not knowing what to expect.  At 62 year of age, I weighed 110kg and had a heart problem having already had a triple by-pass and some years later, a stent put in my artery.  I had tried diets that did nothing but this time, with the great help from your team, things started to happen.  The replacement meals were very enjoyable and the “ free” food plentiful. The exercise was hard at the start but it got infectious and now I love it.  I am one of those people who can say” if I can do it – anyone can”

When I started the program I weighed 110kg and measured 114cm around my waist.  I am happy to say I now weigh 88kg and measure 92cm around my waist.

I love the new me and my family think it’s great.  My blood pressure is way down and my cholesterol level is 3.2.

So, thank you again for all your help.

Hi HWFL Team

I am extremely happy with the program and have had excellent result so far. I have set a new gold to reach 75 kilo's and maintain that weight. At the moment I have just hit 77 Kilo's,so I think my goal is achievable.

 

My big surprise is that I am not hungry, rarely eat between meals and can talk myself around hunger thoughts. I deploy suggestions from information supplied ,such as drink water when I feel I might be hungry, after finishing a portion meal and still feel like more to eat I just wait 15 to 20 minutes and the need to eat disappears . I also think that it is very effective to have to report in each week, this action often assists me to not stray if the temptation gets in my way.  

There are many more tactic I apply ,mostly from your info, however it is suffice to say that I'm still motivated and feel great.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your great program I have had good results and feel so much better. My husband has been very enthused with it all as he said there has been no mood swings and crankiness at all. This evidently was apparent at my other attempts to lose weight.  Hopefully I will not stray from the lessons given and maintain this healthy weight loss.  I am now looking forward to buying the two new outfits for both our son and our daughter’s weddings. Yes two weddings! Ideally I would love to lose some more weight but to maintain the weight I have come down to pleases me (us) tremendously.

 Dear Team ,

I want to thank you for getting me on track , I have loss about 10 .4 kg
since I started 10 weeks ago.

The weight loss has been amazing with people making comments on how good I
look , what will they say when I get down to 100kgs .

I visited the doctor on Friday , he was also amazed at the loss and wants to
recommend to his patients , my blood pressure was good , he has taken me off
the tablets for two weeks , I had to purchase a blood pressure monitor , but
I reckon that a fair deal , if I don't have to take tablets for the rest of
my life , he wants to see how I go over a two week  period monitoring every
day.

I also had my blood count done , awaiting the results to come back hopefully
I may not need the cholesterol  tablets either , I am  hoping that's the
case.

I have lots of more energy and walking has become a great thing to do , I
even ventured back into swimming!

Thanks for your help it been great and I hope to continue , I haven't had to
alter my life that much , just made small adjustments .

I have so much energy...

I have so much energy,  I find that I am busy doing things that I hadn't really been interested in for such a long time!!  I love the fact that even though I may not notice a weight loss - I notice the centimetres are still falling away and I love it!!     I walk everywhere, take stairs even when I don't have to, and have started volunteering at the local Vinnies shop, and I have become conscious of the content of food and mentally calculate how much extra exercise I have to do to counteract the calorie intake. .  So to you team,  I would like to say thank you for such a great program, I couldn't have done it without you

My name is Julie and this is my story.

My name is Julie and this is my story. I am 63 years old and my mother died from gangrene, a complication of her insulin dependent Diabetes. Last year when my Health Fund asked me if I would like to join HWFL I had already lost 8kgs so I thought it could only help. I have now lost 21kgs and feel great. I was 97kgs and I am now 75kgs.
 
My HBA1C reading has gone from 7.2 to 5.8 and...last week my doctor told me that she no longer considers me to be diabetic. My waist measurement has decreased by 19cms and my BMI to 29 which has taken me from the obese category to the overweight category for the first time I can remember. This is the lightest I have been since 1992.

I walk 3 kms most mornings, all on hills and it takes me 35minutes, but I still think it is a necessity rather than a pleasure. I can feel huge differences since I started the programme as I am much fitter and can now walk easily without puffing like a steam train. Last year we spent 3 months overseas and the comfort on planes and the constant travelling were much easier.

This has truly changed my life

"When I hit the scales at 90kgs I realised that things needed to change. I had known for quite some time that I was in the high risk category for type 2 diabetes with my mother and grandfather both suffering from it. I just kept thinking, one day I would get there. I kept watching the ads on television about healthy waistline measurements and knew that my waist line was out of control as was my eating. I now look back and see that I had begun to prefer to stay at home rather than enjoy social situations because of my weight and how I looked. I realised that I had lost interest in clothes, going out and socialising simply because it had become too hard. I came across the Healthy Weight for Life offer and thought I'd give it a go. To my absolute amazement I lost 18 kgs in 18 weeks and an additional 6 kgs since the end of the program.

I had tried shakes before but they just didn't seem to be satisfying but these shakes were fantastic, I didn't need to add the flavour sachets at all and I found that I wasn't getting hungry. I discovered that the feelings that I thought were hunger before were not. I have taught myself to eat smaller quantities and not eat until I'm full, which I used to do all the time. I have a renewed energy and motivation for life in general and of course am enjoying a new wardrobe of clothes. I am so much happier in myself and can honestly say that I have seen many improvements to my health.

I believe this has truly changed my life and I feel very confident that I can keep the weight off. My goal has always been to reach the healthy weight area for my height and to reduce my waistline below 80cm and I am very close to doing that."

My doctor is very pleased and has taken me off one of the diabetes medications and is looking at reducing my cholesterol and blood pressure medications.
