‘Prehab’ Physiotherapist Program

The Stand Up To Joint Pain physiotherapist programs are suited to individuals who have significant knee or hip osteoarthritis or joint pain requiring surgery. The programs can be combined with weight management options if clinically appropriate.

The physiotherapy support included with the program ranges from 1 to 5 telehealth appointments, according to your needs, based on your pain and functional difficulties as identified via the Stand Up To Joint Pain Assessment.

The program has been expertly researched and developed to integrate:

  1. Physio plan and review

    Physio appointment(s) via phone, video or in person where available to develop and review a personal treatment plan based on your needs.

  2. Strength and mobility

    Targeted strength, balance and mobility exercises to help address individual pain and mobility issues identified in the Stand Up To Joint Pain Assessment.

  3. Personal web portal

    A secure mobile-friendly web portal to access your physio treatment plan including videos and supporting educational resources.

  4. Gentle exercise

    Gentle exercise such as walking to help reduce joint stiffness and improve physical function.

  5. Pain management

    Complementary pain management techniques and strategies.

  6. Outcome measurement

    Post treatment outcome measurement to assess impact and satisfaction.

The program includes:

  • Detailed Stand Up To Joint Pain instruction and education book with step-by-step instructions for over 40 graded exercises
  • Access to instructional videos that match the book
  • Resistance exercise tubing for use during some of the exercises
  • Hot/cold pack for short term relief of pain and stiffness

All the resources you need to do the program will be posted out to you at no cost (following the approval from your health fund).
